Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Associate to drive market expansion and revenue growth in Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and managing business clients across fintech, e-commerce, logistics, travel, and remittance sectors. This role combines strategic market development with hands-on sales execution and client relationship management, supporting the company’s vision of building strong, technology-driven financial ecosystems across Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Development & Expansion

  • Identify, prospect, and onboard new business clients across key target industries.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market and regional expansion strategies to increase market penetration.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, monitor competitors, and analyze trends within the digital finance and payments space.

Sales Execution & Client Acquisition

  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Develop tailored proposals and negotiate commercial terms to meet revenue and growth objectives.
  • Achieve individual and regional sales targets through proactive engagement and relationship building.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, providing consultative guidance and responsive support.
  • Help clients maximize product and service value through continuous engagement and follow-up.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and service delivery.
  • Communicate client feedback and market insights to inform product improvements and business strategy.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support campaigns, events, and other client engagement initiatives.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records using CRM tools.
  • Prepare regular reports on leads, conversions, revenue performance, and sales forecasts.
  • Monitor KPIs and recommend actions to improve sales effectiveness and client satisfaction.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry networking events.
  • Support partnership proposal preparation and presentations.
  • Contribute to strategic business planning and regional marketing initiatives.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, market regulations, and payment trends across Africa.
  • Support client due diligence and compliance processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales, business development, or partnerships within fintech, payments, banking, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in cross-border financial services, FX, or digital payment solutions is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, high initiative, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Deep understanding of Uganda’s business and financial landscape.
